From the Collection:

This collection contains the notes, photographs, and genealogy collected by the Creekmores regarding Betsey Beeler Creekmore's publications and research about the Knoxville region and the genealogy of their family. The collection houses a series of genealogical information about several family members including Betsey Beeler Creekmore and her husband, Frank. It also details the history of their lives in Series IV-VI. The clippings and historical records in the photo albums are precious pieces of family history and can be found in the oversized series, Series XXII. There is also further information on specific members of the family in other series, including U. D. Beeler in Series X. Betsey Creekmore was a prominant figure in the Knoxville community as shown in many of the series such as Series IV: the Dogwood Trails and Dogwood Arts Festival, Civic Involvement, and Series XX: Junior League of Knoxville.

As a published author, Ms. Creekmore also has several items related to her books and poems, including notes, research and manuscripts, which can all be found in the second series. Each falls under the appropriate subseries heading from which book it is related, including Dark and Bloody Ground; Your World in Miniature: An Illustrated Guide to Making Small-Scale Rooms and Scenes; Knoxville, Our Fair City, and more.

A detailed itemized listing of the materials in this collection can be found in the Special Collections Reading Room.
