The Herbert E. Copeland Slide Collection consists of 180 glass-plate negatives, dating around the turn of the 20th century. There are many slides of people, parades, and homes. Some are from east Tennessee. Some slides were labeled by the original owner and any use of me or H. E. C in the container list refers to Herbert E. Copeland. Many slides are unidentified. Some slides are of East Tennessee. Some slides are discolored and/or dark. Most slides are 4 x 5 inches, and a few slides are 2 x 3 inches. The collection totals two boxes. The Herbert E. Copeland Slide Collection consists of 180 glass-plate negatives, dating around the turn of the 20th century. There are many slides of people, parades, and homes. Some are from East Tennessee.

Biographical/Historical Note

H. E. Copeland graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1913 with degrees in mining and metallurgical engineering. He worked as the plant superintendent of U. S. Stove Co. in South Pittsburg, Tenn. for many years.

Collection consists of two photograph boxes.
