Jacob Vanscoy was an enlisted man in Company D, 12th Indiana Infantry. This collection consists of copies of letters written by Jacob Vanscoy at Grand Junction, Tennessee, to his father and mother.
Biographical/Historical Note
Jacob Vanscoy was an enlisted man in Company D, 12th Indiana Infantry. He was mortally wounded in battle near the East Tennessee Railroad. He was buried by his two brothers, Aaron and James, in what is now the Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Section D, grave number 12766.
