Abstract

This collection houses 18 volumes documenting the lives of three members of the Lynn family living in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Biographical/Historical Note

Strother James Lynn was born on January 6th, 1850 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Joseph and Elizabeth (Gaines) Lynn. He married Josephine Ketchersid Lynn (1857-1925), and the couple had three children: Hellen Lynn (1877-?), William Napoleon Lynn (1884-1942), and Katherine (Lynn) Barkley (1886-1965). He died on May 20th, 1919, and is buried in the Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Josephine (Ketchersid) Lynn was born in 1857 to James Douglas Ketchersid and Eleanor (Cline) Ketchersid in Knoxville, Tennessee. She married Strother James Lynn (1850-1919), and the couple had three children: Hellen Lynn (1877-?), William Napoleon Lynn (1884-1942), and Katherine (Lynn) Barkley (1886-1965). Josephine died in 1925 and is buried in the Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Edith Louise (Ross) Lynn was born on December 20th, 1891 to John W. A. Ross and Ida (Hamacher) Ross. She married William Napoleon Lynn (1884-1942), and the couple had one child, Elizabeth "Betty" (Lynn) Kirk (1915-1988). Edith died on December 16th, 1988, and is buried in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.
