Richard L. White Letters regarding East Tennessee University,
Richard L. White wrote the bulk of the letters in this collection to his father, Thomas White, while he was studying at East Tennessee University in 1846. Also included are a letter that White wrote to his father from California in 1852 and a letter that Joseph Estabrook enclosed with R. L. White's school report.
Robert King Phebus Photographs
This collection houses photographs of the University of Tennessee campus dating from approximately the 1950s. The subjects depicted include a parade, Carnicus performances, a mock trial scene, and the front of the Alumni Memorial Building with banners advertising student government candidates.
Roger B. Thompson Collection,
The bulk of this collection is made up of 129 ink sketches on the backs of index cards (most including the plant name) and full-page ink drawings showing the different species of Camellis plants. These materials also include notes concerning Thompson's drawings, correspondence from various magazine publishers about drawings that Thompson submitted to them, a collection of magazine articles and images created by Thompson, and three issues of Home Gardening including Thompson's work.
Rogers Van Gilder Papers
This collection houses three certificates of distinction presented by the University of Tennessee's Classical Department (dated 1879, 1880, and 1881), a report of grades (dated January 19, 1882), and a portrait photograph (dated April 25, 1919) documenting Rogers Van Gilder of Knoxville, Tennessee.
